Fejmert History

Long experience with modern technology of mixing concrete

The Fejmert Company was founded in 1940 by Engineer Mr. Erik Fejmert, focusing on the development and manufacture of machinery for centrifugal casting of concrete pipes. This activity remained the core business of the company for a time. The next phase was trigged by Mr. Fejmert´s discontent with the quality of concrete produced in the machines available at that time, which according to his views had a detrimental effect on the finished products. This led to the development of the prototype of a compulsory mixer in the form of a Pan Mixer. The Fejmert Mixer was put in serial production in 1953. The market welcomed the highly efficient Fejmert Mixer and shortly thereafter it was in great demand. It was soon discovered that the Fejmert Mixer was an excellent choice for other Industries, such as the Glass, Refractory and Foundry Industries etc.

Modern Technology of Mixing Concrete according to Mr. Fejmert:
The modern technology of mixing concrete means an intensive working of the mass with blades rotating in specially developed tracks with very high velocity. In this manner the hard kernels of the cement grains are crushed and dissolved, which means a complete exploitation of the cement with corresponding increase of the quality of the concrete. By the intensive working of the mass, the concrete thus produced will gain in coherent, flexible and homogenous consistency, which means excellent moulding and casting qualities and a minimum of water-separation.

History1
The above was true in 1953, and can truly be achieved today with the Fejmert Mixer! The photographs shows two 2000 litres Fejmert Mixers used during the construction of Stockholm Arlanda Airport in 1958. These mixers were the main source of supply of concrete for the complete project, involving runways, buildings etc. The Fejmert Mixers were chosen by Skånska Cementgjuteriet (SKANSKA today) because of their superior mix quality.
